Kia EV owners in India can now find more chargers from inside their car-maker's app. On Oct. 16, 2026, Jio-bp, the fuels and mobility joint venture of Reliance and bp, and Kia India announced that they are connecting their charging networks in both directions. Jio-bp's public chargers now appear in K-Charge, the charging section of Kia's MyKia app. In the other direction, Kia's dealership DC fast chargers will be added to Jio-bp's pulse charge pro app over time.

Entrepreneur India says the integration works without requiring new physical installations. What changes is which app shows which chargers. For drivers, that decides how many apps they need on their phone and where they can see if a charger is free before they get there.

The numbers, as the companies report them

The figures below come from the companies' announcement as reproduced by Autocar Professional, Entrepreneur India and TimesTech. All are as of the Oct. 16, 2026 announcement:

  • Jio-bp network: more than 7,000 charging points at more than 1,100 sites in roughly 300 cities. Autocar Professional and Entrepreneur India give the city count as 300, while TimesTech says "more than 300."
  • K-Charge after integration: more than 23,500 charging points across India are reachable through MyKia, including the Jio-bp sites.
  • Kia's side: 125 DC fast chargers that are already running at Kia dealerships. These will be added to the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app "progressively," with more dealership chargers to follow.
  • Jio-bp charger power: its DC fast chargers range from 60 kW to 480 kW.
  • Uptime: Jio-bp reports 96% uptime. This is the company's own figure. None of the reports describe how it is measured or whether anyone outside the company has checked it.

Entrepreneur India notes that Jio-bp stations include sites on national highways. Autocar Professional and Entrepreneur India report that the pulse charge pro app uses AI to show charger availability and network status in real time, according to the company.

What is live and what is still to come

The two halves of the deal are at different stages.

Jio-bp inside MyKia. The reports describe Jio-bp's network as accessible through K-Charge now. TimesTech quotes the company statement as saying that with the pulse network on board, the platform now offers access to 23,500+ charging points across India.

Kia dealers inside Jio-bp's app. This half is described as still in progress. The 125 dealership chargers are operating today, but the companies say they will be added to pulse charge pro gradually. Future dealership chargers are to be included as well. None of the three reports give a completion date or say how many of the 125 are already listed in the Jio-bp app.

What It Means for Drivers

If you drive a Kia EV and use MyKia: Jio-bp chargers should now appear in K-Charge, so you can find them without a separate app. According to the companies, the total number of points you can see in K-Charge is now more than 23,500. The reports say users can locate chargers, plan routes, start and monitor sessions and pay within the apps.

If you drive any EV and use Jio-bp's pulse charge pro app: Kia's dealership DC fast chargers will start to appear in the app over time. As of the announcement, no date has been given for when all 125 will be listed.

Where the chargers are: Jio-bp reports more than 1,100 sites in about 300 cities, including national highway locations. Kia's chargers are at its dealerships.

Charging speed: Jio-bp's DC chargers are rated from 60 kW to 480 kW. That is the maximum the charger can deliver. The power your car actually draws also depends on the vehicle, its battery temperature and its state of charge.

What the reports don't cover: None of the three reports give prices, per-kWh or per-minute rates, billing terms between the two apps, or whether a session started in one app is billed through the other. Drivers should check the rate shown in the app at the charger before starting a session.

Why connect the apps instead of building more chargers?

A network that links its app to another gets a larger number to advertise without building new sites. For a carmaker like Kia, it means owners can manage charging from the app that came with the car. For a network operator like Jio-bp, it means its chargers show up in front of a brand's owners, and in this case Kia's dealership chargers get added to its own map.

Two caveats are worth keeping in mind. First, the 23,500-point figure counts charging points, not sites, and the reports do not break it down by network, charger type or speed. Second, the 96% uptime figure applies only to Jio-bp's network, comes from the company itself, and is not broken down by site or charger type in any of the reports.

Open questions

  • When will all 125 Kia dealership chargers appear in pulse charge pro, and are they open to non-Kia EVs?
  • Can a session be paid for in one app and billed through the other, or does each network bill only its own chargers?
  • How are the 96% uptime figure and real-time availability data measured and updated?

ChargerFeed will update this story if Kia India or Jio-bp publish further details.
