Dutch fast-charging operator Fastned published its third-quarter 2026 trading update on Oct. 15, 2026. It reported €51.3 million in charging revenue for the quarter. That figure includes €5.1 million of Dutch e-credits relating to the first quarter that were transferred in Q3. Without them, comparable revenue was €46.3 million, up 47% from a year earlier. Gross profit was €37 million, up 44%. The company opened 17 stations during the quarter, had 65 under construction going into Q4 and kept its full-year guidance unchanged.

Fastned runs fast-charging stations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the UK and France. It has guided to between 70 and 100 new stations in 2026, which would take its operational network to 476–506 stations by year end.

Revenue, volume and the e-credit adjustment

The gap between the reported and comparable figures comes down to timing. The €5.1 million in Dutch e-credits belonged to the first quarter but was transferred in Q3, after a temporary closure of the Dutch government portal that handles them, electrive reported. Stripping it out gives the €46.3 million comparable figure. The timing shift had no effect on gross profit.

Organic volume growth, which excludes new stations still ramping up, was 27%. Battery-electric vehicle fleets in Fastned's markets grew 29% over the same period. Sales at existing stations rose 27%, while total sales rose 43%. Battery-electric vehicles accounted for 28.0% of new registrations across Fastned's markets in July and August, Renewable Energy Magazine reported.

At the station level, year-to-date revenue worked out to €395,000 per station on an annualized basis, near the top of the company's €350,000–400,000 range for 2026. Annualized average volume was 596 MWh per station.

Build pipeline

Fastned is accelerating its build-out. Its construction pipeline going into the fourth quarter was almost twice the size of a year earlier. In the quarter the company signed agreements for 26 new high-traffic locations and dropped four development sites, according to Idéal Investisseur.

By country, Fastned has 60 stations in Belgium and 42 operational hubs in the UK, where its 40th hub opened in Liverpool in August and more are scheduled before year end. In Germany it is heading toward 70 stations, 17 of them built on highways under the federal Deutschlandnetz program. Tom Hurst, Fastned's UK Country Director, said the company is "matching that momentum step for step" in the UK.

Guidance and financing

Fastned kept its 2026 guidance: 70–100 new stations, average revenue of €350,000–400,000 per station and an operational EBITDA margin of about 45%. The fourth quarter is typically the company's largest.

The update came after a first half in which Fastned reported a net loss of €13 million. Total liabilities rose to €514.6 million at the end of the first half from €409.8 million at the end of 2025, and network investment in the first half was €44.7 million, electrive reported. Fastned has previously put the average investment per new station at about €892,000, covering charging hardware, grid connection, transformers and solar canopies. For full-year 2025, in results published March 24, 2026, the company reported revenue of €139.2 million and a net loss of €30.2 million.

Fastned funds its expansion with retail bonds that carry a 6% coupon and a five-year term. By the end of June it had collected about €337 million through retail bonds, and its second bond issue of 2026 raised €36.5 million. The third issue of 2026 remains open until Oct. 30, 2026.

What It Means for Drivers

In Belgium, the Libin Galaxia station in Wallonia, developed with IDELUX, has 12 charging points rated at up to 400 kW; the speed any car actually gets depends on what it can accept. In the UK, Liverpool now has a Fastned hub, the network's 40th in the country. In France, the Thionville-Yutz site opened as Fastned's first kiosk there.

The stations under construction and the newly signed locations are not open yet. A signed location is a site agreement, not a working charger.

Drivers who hold an ANWB Charge Card get 10% off charging at Fastned stations across Europe under a partnership with the Dutch mobility association ANWB that launched in September 2026, according to electrive's Oct. 16 report. The offer applies to card subscribers, of whom ANWB has more than 600,000.
